A recent study discloses it takes 19 days and cost in excess $17,000 to re-enter just 20 megabytes worth of sales and marketing data. Retrieving accounting records is even worse; they require over 21 days of work and cost over $19,000 to re-type. For many businesses, this kind of cost can close your doors. Remote backup service can keep these extreme expenses from hitting your company!

Does Essential Backup work on Mac computers?
No, Essential Backup does not work on Macs.
What type of connection do I need?
Our service requires a reliable, dedicated Internet connection. This connection could be 56K, ISDN, cable modem, DSL, T1 or T3. The faster your connection, the faster your backups will run.

I use AOL to connect to the internet. Will Essential Backup work with AOL?
Yes, but it can only work in the manual mode and you will need to sign on to your AOL account each time you want to backup. This is due to the fact that AOL does not use a Dial-Up Networking Connection and therefore, It can not establish an internet connection on its own. There are several other companies that have a proprietary dial-up system, the same is true of all of them.

Is my data encrypted as it travels over the Internet?
Yes. All data is encrypted before it leaves your computer, only you have the key.

What do I do if I lose my encryption password?
Lost passwords cannot be recovered. They are NEVER transmitted to our servers. We have NO WAY of getting them back. Essential Backup recommends keeping multiple copies of your encryption password (s) in safe, secured remote locations.

Is my data safe/secure?
Yes. Your data files are safe and secure at every step of the backup process due to Essential Backup's state-of-the-art encryption and security methods. Only you can access your data.

How does Essential Backup store and protect my data? We know the value of high quality equipment. All of our equipment is fully redundant, power-protected and fault-tolerant. We store three separate copies of your data at three secure facilities. Our facility is secured with high-level security systems, 7 days a week.

How is my data secured?
The two primary security measures Essential Backup employs are (1) limiting access to your data to authorized users by password authorization; and (2) encrypting your data prior to transmission and storing it in an encrypted state.
